When babies are born early, we need to give them oxygen and keep them in ventilator. This ventilation in future could affect these babies with chronic lung disease.
A scientist named Thebaud and his team has found out that stem cells have the capacity of healing the lungs.
A study showed that the stem cells had the healing liquid which had healing factors. A research was conducted on some of the rats which were born early and could not breathe easily. To stop this prematurity some oxygen was given to the rats and some stem cells were taken from the bone marrow and given to them through injection. Survival rates of the pre-matured rats increased and were twice active than the normal rats.
